A new scam is hitting local businesses in Amarillo.
According to City officials, individuals posing as City representatives have visited two businesses in-person demanding payment for supposed city services. The scam has also included phone calls demanding payment, with the threat of disruption of service.
The City of Amarillo says these incidents are scams and that residents should instead utilize the City’s new billing service.
