An Amarillo Police officer has been arrested, authorities say.
According to APD, on March 15th, officers arrested Captain Jason Zang for Unlawful Disclosure or Promotion of Intimate Visual Material. Zang has been employed by APD since 1990 and was assigned to the APD Service Division.
A complaint was made on March 7th and investigated by APD detectives and the Texas Rangers. Investigators then presented the case for review to the 47th District Attorney’s Office, which accepted the charge of Unlawful Disclosure or Promotion of Intimate Visual Material. Zang was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center on that charge. An internal APD investigation is also been conducted. Zang has been placed on administrative leave, pending completion of the internal investigation.
