Texas Tech to Name Pharmacy School for Former Amarillo Mayor

The Texas Tech Health Sciences Center announced Thursday the decision to name its pharmacy school to honor a former Amarillo mayor and local pharmacist.

On Thursday, it was announced the pharmacy school would be named the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy to honor former Amarillo mayor Jerry Hodge. The announcement was made at a ceremony this week.

Hodge has been a longtime supporter of Texas Tech, showing his support in a number of way, including with the gift of $10 million earlier this year for efforts to bring a veterinary school to Amarillo. In addition to his service as Amarillo mayor, Hodge is also a local pharmacist.
