Editorial: Want to Have a Say? Then Vote!

If you want to have a say in the direction of Amarillo for the next two years, then you must show up to vote on Saturday.

Over the past two years, I have heard lots of comments and concerns raised by citizens about the direction of the City of Amarillo, Amarillo College, and the Amarillo Independent School District. This year, every full-termed elected position on each of these entities is contested, giving voters lots of options. There is absolutely no reason to stay home during this election cycle.

For voters who have been vocal and expressed concerns over the past two years, now is the time to act. If you want to have a say in your government, you must show up and vote on Saturday, May 4th. Whether you are voting to re-elect your favorite incumbents or voting for new representatives, this is your last chance to have a say for the next two years.

Please make a plan and show up to vote on Saturday. Amarillo is counting on you.
