The Amarillo City Council will consider voting next week to canvass and approve the results of the May 4th election.

According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, the City Council’s agenda includes an item to canvass and certify the results of the May 4th municipal election. Approving election results is standard procedure following a municipal election. Following the approval, the oath of office will be administered to elected officials by municipal court judge Laura Hamilton.

In addition, City Councilmembers will consider voting to “clarify the scope of coverage of the hotel occupancy tax.”

Councilmembers will meet on Tuesday, May 14th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (601 South Buchanan). The meeting will begin at 1PM.
