Last night’s game against the Midland Rockhounds did not go as planned for the Amarillo Sod Poodles, but two players did achieve a franchise first.
According to information from the team, Buddy Reed and Owen Miller each recorded four hits during Monday’s Rockhounds game, become the first players in franchise history to net four hits for a single game. The hit parade was not enough to carry the Soddies past the Rockhounds, as Midland retired the Poodles in order in the bottom of the ninth, with Midland winning 9-8.
The series is set to continue this week at Hodgetown in downtown Amarillo.
