Trustee John Ben Blanchard may be departing the Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees.
According to an agenda for next week’s meeting, school board trustees will consider voting to accept the resignation of Trustee Blanchard, marking the second trustee resignation in less than two years. Trustee James Allen previously resigned in June 2018.
Blanchard is a local attorney who was most recently re-elected to his seat on the school board in 2017. Blanchard also currently serves as the vice president of the school board.
There is no word yet on how a replacement for Blanchard will be selected. Blanchard’s resignation comes as the school board is set to get three new trustees, as voters recently ousted two incumbents from the board, with school board president F. Scott Flow not seeking re-election.
