Three Amarillo ISD schools have been named 2018-2019 Honor Roll Schools for their high achievement in student success. Belmar Elementary, Ridgecrest Elementary and Whittier Elementary are three of 855 public schools in Texas recognized by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP).
The Honor Roll program is part of a national effort to acknowledge higher-performing schools and districts that are working to improve student outcomes. In order to receive the Honor Roll distinction, schools must demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and a reduction in achievement gaps among student population.
“These Honor Roll schools and districts are living proof that our students can succeed when schools are committed to removing educational obstacles and accelerating student success,” said ERP president and CEO James Lanich in a news release. “By focusing attention on these bright spots among our schools, we hope to change the conversation from ‘what’s wrong’ to ‘what’s working,’ and encourage others to replicate their success.”
Schools who received this recognition are given a banner to display at their campuses and are featured on ERP’s website as an example for other schools to replicate in student success.
