The Amarillo City Council will once again consider raising the fees for after school programs at the Charles E. Warford Activity Center next week.
According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, on Tuesday, the City Council will consider voting to approve a three-part after school program fee increase for the Warford Center. The fee increases will include one increase on January 1, 2020, and an additional increase on August 1, 2020. The fee will be raised from its present rate of $20 for members to $85 on January 1st and $170 on August 1, 2020, if approved. The rate for non-members will also be increased from $30 to $95 on January 1 and eventually $190 in August 2020, if the item is approved.
Council originally considered a version of this ordinance in June, eventually tabling the item on a motion by Councilwoman Freda Powell. However, City staff is still recommending approval of the ordinance, according to a memo attached to the agenda.
Also, during the meeting, the City Council plans to approve several purchase orders and will receive an update on the Amarillo Fire Department Strategic Plan.
The meeting will begin at 1PM on Tuesday, July 23rd at Amarillo City Hall (601 South Buchanan). The meeting will follow a noon public comment session.
