Amarillo Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday evening.
On July 25th, at 7:03PM, officers were dispatched to the area of Northwest 20th and Ong on a report of shots fired. Officers located several spent shell casings of different caliber in the street. No injuries were reported, but one bullet did go through the windshield of a motorist in the area of Northeast 24th and North Hughes, narrowly missing the driver and landing in the headrest. The motorist suffered minor injuries from the glass fragments.
Officers were told there were three vehicles involved in the incident. The vehicles were described as a bluish-green Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis, a black SUV, and a silver Honda. Only one suspect was observed and he is described as a black male wearing a black mask and sitting in the passenger seat of the blue-green vehicle.
