The City of Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare Department (AAMW) is offering a free micro-chipping event for pets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 13 at El Alamo Park, 1621 S. Houston St.
The free micro-chipping service is provided through a grant by PetSmart Charities. Related documents for the public for this micro-chipping service will be available in Spanish.
Micro-chipping is a vital tool for pet retention purposes.
Dogs and cats are eligible for the micro-chipping service, but cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be leashed.
The service will be provided on a first come-first served basis.
