Texas Republican chairman James Dickey will be in Amarillo this week to meet with local Republican leaders and voters.
On Thursday, July 11th, Dickey will host a meeting at the First Family Church at 601 South Bell. According to information from the Potter County Republican Party, Dickey will discuss the 2019 legislative session and the party’s plans heading into the 2020 election cycle.
The event will mark Dickey’s first return to Amarillo since announcing last week that he plans to seek re-election to his position in 2020. Dickey has already attracted at least one prospective challenger in former Florida U.S. Rep. Allen West. Dickey was first elected to his position in 2017, eventually winning re-election in 2018 against challenger Cindy Asche.
Dickey’s meeting will begin at 6:30PM.
