Local authorities are investigating a recent aggravated robbery.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on August 5th, officers were dispatched at around 2:55am to a reported robbery in the 5800 block of Southwest 48th. A 72-year-old female told officers that she had been unloading groceries out of her vehicle when a man came inside the garage and choked her. The suspect then allegedly began to pull the victim out of the garage and eventually tripped and fell down. The suspect is then believed to have left with the victim’s purse in a white car, potentially described as a Honda Civic.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Surveillance footage was found released to the public this week by APD. Authorities say that if a member of the public has any information on this crime, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.
