Tascosa High School teacher Alyssa Wilson has been named a 2019 AGS Geography Teacher Fellow by the American Geographical Society.
According to Amarillo Independent School District, Wilson, an AP human geography teacher, is just one of fifty educators in the United States to receive the honor. The program recognizes geography teachers and provides “supplementary resources and materials to support their teaching strategies.”
As part of the recognition, Wilson has been invited to attend the AGS Fall 2019 Symposium “Geography 2050: Borders and a Borderless World,” later this year in New York.
