WT Names New Alumni Association Executive Director

After a nation-wide search, officials at West Texas A&M University have named Ronnie Hall as the new executive director for the WTAMU Alumni Association. He will begin is duties on Jan. 21.

A well-regarded alumnus of WT, Hall graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science in 1995 before earning a master’s degree in instructional technology in 2000. In that time, Hall has remained a dedicated and loyal staff member of the University as an assistant area coordinator and area coordinator in Residential Living. Hall has supervised hundreds of student employees, trains and develops hall directors and is involved with many residential living operations including budgeting, large-scale events and policy implementation.

With nearly 25 years in higher education, exclusively at WT, Hall brings a wealth of knowledge in the expansive history and traditions of the University as well as extensive experience fostering relationships among students and alumni members. He has served as an advisor to four campus organizations, been a member of 13 committees and the recipient of eight University awards including one for a Lifetime of Service.

“Working closely with the Alumni Board in the search process, we are excited to have Ronnie take the reins as executive director for the WTAMU Alumni Association. His extensive knowledge of WT and experience working with many alumni when they were students will position him immediately to strengthen the Alumni Association to serve from the Texas Panhandle to the world,” Dr. Todd Rasberry, VP for Institutional Advancement, said.

As executive director of the WTAMU Alumni Association, Hall’s primary responsibility will be to cultivate an active network of former students, connect WT alumni with the University, and focus on developing opportunities that keep alumni centered on the WT experience. In addition to increasing association membership and chapter development, Hall will focus on growing volunteer participation, connecting alumni to what is happening at WT, and garnering support of alumni for the mission and vision of WT.

“I have a deep passion for WT, campus life and the University experience after graduation. I am honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to help sustain participation among our cherished students as we build a meaningful alumni program,” Hall said.
