APD: Suspect Shot by Homeowner During Burglary

Amarillo Police are reporting that a suspect was shot during a burglary on South Kentucky this week.

According to APD, on October 6, at 4:20am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of South Kentucky on the report of a shooting. The resident told officers that they were awakened by someone inside their house. The resident shot at the suspect and the suspect fled. Officers located blood at the scene and items left by the suspect.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as Francisco Solis, 26. Solis was located at a residence in the 200 block of South Kentucky Street. Solis had an injury to his arm consistent with a gunshot wound, and evidence linking him to the original scene.

Solis was medically treated and arrested for Burglary of a Habitation. He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
