Members of the Amarillo City Council will reconvene for a special meeting on Friday.

According to Amarillo.gov, the City Council will meet on Friday to consider the passage of Ordinance 7893. The agenda for the meeting states Ordinance 7893 would allow for “declaring a site that fails to meet certain minimum standards designed to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 as a public nuisance.” A full copy of the ordinance has been requested by Pioneer staff.

Because the item includes a public hearing on the ordinance, it appears interested citizens may provide comments on the proposed ordinance. For information on speaking at the meeting, visit Amarillo.gov.

The meeting will be held on Friday, November 20, at 3pm. The meeting will be broadcast on Amarillo.gov via video conference due to social distancing guidelines related to the coronavirus.
