Members of the Electoral College for Texas voted unanimously for President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence on Monday.
In a 38-0 vote, the electors who were bound to vote for Trump in Texas did so on Monday, helping the President reach his final electoral vote total of 232. After voting for Trump, electors in Texas also voted to support a resolution calling on legislatures in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin to appoint their own electors. The groundbreaking move was supported by a margin of 34-4.
Nationally, electors cast 306 votes for Democrat Joe Biden, more than the 270 votes necessary to win the presidency. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Alabama) is planning to lead a delegation that will challenge the vote total for Biden when Congress receives the votes on January 6.
