The deadline to become a write-in candidate in Texas has passed and a number of presidential candidates have filed their applications to join Republican Donald J. Trump, Democrat Joe Biden, Libertarian Jo Jorgensen, and Green Howie Hawkins on the November ballot.
In the presidential race, voters will have the option of casting a ballot for the listed candidates Trump, Biden, Jorgensen, or Hawkins, or they may cast a write-in vote. Only candidates who declared their write-in candidacy by the deadline with the Texas Secretary of State may see their write-in votes count toward their name. Other write-in votes for non-certified candidates will essentially be tossed out, as non-certified candidates cannot receive votes.
The following presidential tickets are eligible to receive votes in Texas this November. Please note, candidates who are write-in candidates will be designated with a (W-I) next to their name for their party affiliation. Candidates who will appear listed on the ballot are in bold.
