Amarillo’s Public Health Department is urging local healthcare providers to enroll as COVID-19 vaccine providers.

According to the City of Amarillo, registration is now open through the Texas Department of State Health Services for providers wanting to enroll as a COVID-19 vaccine provider. Providers in Potter and Randal County are specifically being encouraged by local health authorities to enroll as Amarillo deals with the ongoing pandemic.

“This is an important first step in providing a COVID-19 vaccine in the state and for the Amarillo community in the future,” Amarillo Public Health Director Casie Stoughton said in a statement. “It is still very early in the process, but this is great news and extremely promising for the months ahead.”

Vaccines are expected to begin arriving in Texas on December 14.

Texas providers wishing to enroll can do so at EnrollTexasIZ.dshs.texas.gov. Additional provider information can be found at https://www.dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/immunize/provider-information.aspx.

For questions, you are asked to call the DSHS COVID-19 Vaccine Provider hotline at 877-835-7750.
