Amarillo Police Investigate Social Media Threat

Authorities are investigating a threat found on social media, according the Amarillo Police Department.

According to APD, authorities were made aware of a “vague threat of gun violence” circulating on social media on Wednesday. Officers say the threat has been investigated since it was received by APD and from all reports given, there were no threats made against any specific school in Amarillo. There was also no information as to whether the threat was made in Amarillo or Texas.

APD says its officers will continue to monitor and investigate any threats.
