According to Amarillo Police, on Thursday, January 28, officers responded to a robbery at JCPenney’s at 7701 I-40 West. The store was closed and the employees were waiting for a few customers to finish making their purchases. A tall Hispanic male wearing a grey and black jacket, blue shirt, and khaki pants, attempted to flee the store with items without paying. The suspect found the store’s doors were locked and was unable to find an exit. APD says the suspect then assaulted an employee to get the keys to the store. The suspect then left the store.
