Donald Trump and Joe Biden were the favorite presidential contenders of local primary voters on Tuesday night.
In the Amarillo area, Republican voters gave Trump a sign of approval, as he won 95 percent of the vote in both Potter and Randall Counties. In both counties, Uncommitted placed second, followed by withdrawn candidate former Illinois U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh to round out the top three.
Meanwhile, local Democrats also gave former Vice President Joe Biden the win in their primary. Biden won 35 percent in Potter County and 34 percent in Randall County, beating out Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who finished with 30 percent in both counties.
The results also followed Texas trends, with Trump trouncing his opponents statewide and Biden winning a slim statewide primary victory over Sanders.
