Hicks Bests Johnson for Randall Constable

Paula Hicks is set to become the next Precinct 4 constable for Randall County.

According to unofficial results on Tuesday night, Hicks nabbed about 60 percent of the vote against the incumbent Chris Johnson’s 40 percent in the Republican primary. Hicks previously sought the position in 2016 against Johnson, pulling in about 40 percent in that election.

This is a race that attracted much interest in the days leading up to the election. Several major endorsements and campaign activities brought attention to the constable’s race, which ordinarily has flown under the radar in past cycles.

A little over 14,000 votes were cast in this year’s election, according to Randall County.

Hicks is not expected to face an opponent in the November general election.
