Captain Jimmy Johnson has been promoted to the role of Assistant Chief of Police at the Amarillo Police Department.
According to information released by APD, Johnson was promoted during a ceremony on Friday. Johnson has spent 32 years with the Amarillo Police Department and has a long history with the department, including his graduation from the 1989 APD Police Academy. Johnson holds degrees from Amarillo College and Wayland Baptist University.
In addition to Johnson, APD promoted Lieutenant Louis Sanchez to Captain, and Sergeant Warren Gross to Lieutenant.
