The runoff for the seat in the Texas US House of Representatives for district 13 is between two men who seek to be the voice of all its people. This race is pivotal for us as we are electing a freshman congressman, surrendering a tenured congressman and his seniority. To be effective, this representative will have to function at the highest levels of government to be heard. He will have to be articulate and well-rounded in every facet of the economy, health care and defense, limiting our representation would be foolish.
Being born and raised 30 miles beyond an arbitrary line, in my mind, is not important if that individual shares our core values in culture and life philosophy. Work ethic and willingness to serve our talking points that are best demonstrated by how a man lives his life. Spending a life in an area may make that individual an expert on the minutiae of that area, but will this translate into leadership for that area? Being a vocal advocate is glamorous until the left and liberal media turn on that person and their family, these entities are willing to tell lies that will not be corrected and will remain on simple searches of the Internet indefinitely.
While Mr. Winegarner has spent his life in the district Admiral Jackson has been stationed around the world, going where the nation needed a skilled physician and leader to protect our way of life. Admiral Jackson has been in the most dangerous places on the planet, representing the people of the United States bravely and honorably and moving his family every time he was given the order. This family is an example of his heart to serve with a son and daughter presently involved in our defense. This service is why we are able to have the freedoms we enjoy. Admiral Jackson's willingness to save young men and women who put themselves in harm's way - seeing the worst of what our enemies are willing to do to them - that is service on a level that few of us can imagine.
The leadership and skill that Admiral Jackson demonstrated gave him the opportunity to serve President Bush. When he was given the job as Physician to the White House, instead of immediately beginning his new assignment, he asked to finish his tour into Taqaddum, Iraq. This is not a man seeking safety and fame; he went back to the frontline resuscitation unit under his command. Giving medical aid to our troops were injured by IEDs, gunfire and bombs. Taking himself from the most secure place on the planet with his family, to the most dangerous in the of desert of Iraq. This is courage embodied, a leader of men, a Christian servant; Not a man in search of fame.
My friend Ronny Jackson is a Christian, a husband, a father and a servant to our nation. The sacrifices he and his family have made allow people to have the freedom to tell their side of every story, even when his opponents are not telling the truth. Without the service of him and other members of our military, none of the right we possess are possible. We owe our Constituional Republic their willingness to serve.
To elect an effective leader for our district we must consider all of the facts in how a man has lived his life. How will his voice be heard among 435 duly elected congressmen and congresswomen? Will it be heard as an expert on local issues or an expert on world and national affairs and how they apply to our district?
I believe that Admiral Jackson is the best man to represent Texas Congressional district 13. He has served in defense of our nation; he has protected the health and welfare of three Presidents. He is beloved and respected by the people he served from the Presidents, to their families, to the Secret Service details and the soldiers he saved in a desert halfway around the world.
A life of service is not a catch phrase for the Jackson family; it is the way they live their lives. It is an honor and privilege to serve as Admiral Jackson's Chief of Staff and Treasurer. My family has become one with theirs and we're better for it. God bless the Jacksons and all of the great men and women who risk their lives every day so that we can enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear in this nation.
Humbly,
Chris Morrow, DVM
