Two new firefighters are joining the team in paid positions at Potter County Fire and Rescue.

According to PCFR, the Potter County Commissioners Court approved two new paid positions for PCFR due to growth in the county and available funds from the County Assistance District approved by voters in 2017. The group has selected Kristopher Archer and Logan Martinez to fill the two captain positions, following an application and vetting process.

Archer had previously served over 10 years as a volunteer for PCFR and was a lieutenant for Station 3 near Bishop Hills at the time we was hired. Additionally, Archer is a licensed EMT and recently completed his training to be a certified firefighter.

Martinez started his career with PCFR before he turned 18, serving as a junior firefighter. Once he turned 18, he became a regular volunteer and recently completed the Amarillo College Fire Academy and his EMT training.
