APD: Arrest Made in Early Morning Robberies

Amarillo authorities say an arrest has been made in connection with a pair of early morning robberies.

According to Amarillo Police, APD officers were dispatched at 1:08AM on Wednesday to a convenience store in the 100 block of Tascosa Road on a robbery. The victim told officers that a while male, who was driving a white Lexus SUV, drove through the drive-thru and demanded money while motioning to his waistband as if he had a weapon. The male left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.

Shortly after, officers were dispatched at 2:44AM to a convenience store in the 2100 block of southeast 34th Avenue on a robbery. A male matching the description from the first robbery reportedly drove through the drive-thru in a white Lexus SUV and demanded money from the clerk, acting as if he was armed with a weapon. The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and no injuries were reported from this incident.

While officers were on scene at the second robbery, an APD officer observed the suspect vehicle driving at Coulter and Bayswater at 3:15AM. A stop was initiated on the suspect vehicle in the 7100 block of Old Kent Road. Todd Earley, 50, was placed under arrest as the suspect in the robberies. He was booked into the Randall County Jail for robbery.
