Voters will find out who the Libertarian Party will be placing on the statewide ballot in Texas this weekend.
Beginning on Friday, the Texas Libertarian Party will host its convention in Big Spring at the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium. The convention will allow Texas Libertarians the opportunity to pick their statewide candidates to face the nominees of the Republican and Democratic parties.
According to the candidate list on the state party’s website, Libertarians will have big choices to make, as Wes Benedict and Kerry Douglas McKennon are vying for the party’s nomination for U.S. Senate, and Matt Sterett and Charlie Stevens will be hoping to win the party’s nomination for Railroad Commissioner. Candidates for statewide judicial offices will be officially nominated to run on the ticket led by the party’s national slate of Dr. Jo Jorgensen for President and Spike Cohen for Vice President.
The convention will run from July 31 through August 2. For details, visit www.lptexas.org/2020_convention.
