Potter County Judge Nancy Tanner has drawn a challenger in her bid for a third term in office.

On Monday, Heath filed to challenge Tanner for the Republican nomination for County Judge in the upcoming 2022 primary election. Heath describes himself as a longtime resident of Potter County and a retired employee of Pantex who holds experience in the fields of information technology and cyber security. Heath has experience managing multi-national programs within the Department of Energy that have been recognized with top awards for saving taxpayer dollars.

According to the Heath campaign, the candidate plans to oppose the overreach of local government, particularly in the use of executive orders and compliance directives related to COVID-19. Heath also plans to campaign on the issues of election integrity and fiscal responsibility.

“I intend on establishing that the county government requests only the absolute minimum amount of taxes to carry out its constitutional duties,” Heath said in a statement.

The primary election for County Judge is currently scheduled for March 1, 2022.
