State Rep. Four Price (R-Amarillo) may have a challenger in next year’s general election for the first time since 2014.
Last week, Libertarian Nick Hearn filed his treasurer appointment with the Texas Ethics Commission to challenge Price in 2022. According to his Facebook page, Hearn describes himself as family focused and as a Marine who is “fighting for the freedom of choice for people like you.”
Hearn is planning on seeking the Libertarian Party’s nomination to challenge Price next year, potentially giving Price his first challenger overall since 2018 and his first general election opponent since 2014. The last time Price faced a general election opponent was in 2014, when he handily defeated Democrat Abel Bosquez to win re-election.
Candidates have until December 13 to announce their candidacies for the 2022 election cycle.
