Amarillo College Students Selected to Perform at San Antonio Convention

Provided

The Texas Community College Band Directors Association and Choir Directors Association, respectively, have tabbed six Amarillo College students to perform at the Texas Music Educators’ Annual Conference and Convention this February in San Antonio.

The selections were made as a result of auditions sponsored by the two associations in November, at which several AC students vied for membership in the 2022 Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir, Band and Jazz Band.

AC’s Sara Clinesmith, Raquel Guest, Hope Moore and Paige Preston each were selected for membership in the All-State Choir.

AC’s Ethan Spears was named 1st chair percussionist, and Jordan Nguyen was named 8th chair clarinet for the All-State Band and Jazz Band.

AC music faculty members Dr. Melody Rich, voice, and Dr. Jim Laughlin, woodwinds, assisted students in registering and preparing for the auditions.
