Amarillo Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday morning.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were called to a local hospital on a 40-year-old male who had arrived with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim told officers that we was in an alley in the 3000 block of Southwest 27th Avenue when he was approached by a male who is known to him. A verbal argument ensued and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim one time in the lower body.
The victim is being treated for his injuries. The suspect has not been located at this time, but the investigation is ongoing, APD reports.
