Randall County to Close in Support of Utility Conservation Efforts

Officials at Randall County say County facilities will be closed throughout the rest of the week in an effort to aid utility conservation efforts.

“Randall County has joined forces with the CISD, AISD, Bushland ISD, River Road ISD, West Texas A&M University, Amarillo College, City of Canyon, City of Amarillo and our friends at Potter County to help our utilities in this unprecedented storm by reducing our demand for utilities,” the County said in a statement.

While County buildings will be closed Thursday and Friday, Randall County Road and Bridge, Randall County Sheriff's Office, and Randall County Fire will all remain fully operational.

In addition to these efforts, County officials have asked residents to follow other utilities conservation tips.

“We want to thank all our citizens. Overnight with your efforts, our utility partners tell us they have seen a reduction in demand. Keep up the great work and be mindful of your usage,” the County said in its statement.
