U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) joined a panel on healthcare during a stop at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida on Sunday.
Jackson made his first appearance at the national event for conservatives since winning his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives last year. Hours before former President Donald Trump would take the stage to rally conservatives, Jackson joined U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas), Club for Growth’s Scott Parkinson, and the American Conservative Union’s Michi Iljazi to discuss healthcare in America.
During the discussion, Jackson drew praise and applause from the CPAC crowd for his position that America needs to promote the free market in the healthcare and coverage debate.
“As long as the government or whoever else it is is spending someone else’s money, they will not care how much money they spend, and they will drive us into incredible debt with the healthcare system,” Jackson said.
After wrapping up the panel, Jackson said in a social media post on Monday that he enjoyed his time at the convention and is convinced Republicans are in a prime spot for electoral success in 2022.
“My time at CPAC 2021 yesterday was phenomenal,” Jackson wrote. “I met a TON of young, passionate conservatives who are the FUTURE of our conservative movement. We will WIN in 2022 and for years to come!”
