U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) picked up an endorsement this week from a former leader of the country.

On Tuesday, Jackson announced an endorsement from former President Donald Trump for his 2022 re-election campaign. In a post to social media, Jackson thanked Trump for the endorsement and said he is looking forward to the upcoming election season.

“Our America First movement is the FUTURE of the Republican Party, and WE WILL WIN in 2022,” Jackson wrote.

Jackson is currently in his first term and has already filed the paperwork to begin his 2022 campaign for re-election. He has not yet drawn a primary or general election challenger, but candidates have until December to declare their campaigns.

The next Republican primary will likely be held in March 2022.
