Mayoral candidate Michael Hunt unveiled a brand new ad this week, promoting his candidacy ahead of the May 1 election.
The new ad, which shows Hunt sitting in an office in front of the Texas flag, focuses on his priorities of lower taxes and transparency, citing issues with the current City Council.
“Send me to City Hall and I will fight for lower taxes, fewer regulations, and a more transparent local government,” Hunt says in the ad. “Join me and let’s fix Amarillo together.”
Hunt is a political newcomer and owner of Michael’s Barbeque Shack, which provides food catering services to customers across the Panhandle. Hunt has been endorsed by Save Amarillo PAC, the group which was behind the defeat of Propositions A and B in the November 3 election.
Michael Hunt is facing incumbent Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson and two other opponents in the mayoral election on May 1. Early voting begins April 19.
