West Texas A&M University will continue requiring students, faculty, and staff to follow COVID-19 safety protocols for the remainder of the semester, following Gov. Greg Abbott’s announcement that he was rolling back his mask mandate this week.
According to WTAMU, the Texas A&M System institutions have been directed by Chancellor John Sharp to continue following system-wide safety guidelines related to face coverings, physical distancing, and more through the remainder of the spring semester.
However, according to Sharp’s guidance to A&M System institutions, the system-wide guidance is expected to be lifted at the end of the semester, allowing individual institutions to put their own rules and procedures in place.
