Local authorities are investigating a recent drive-by shooting as a homicide after the victim in the shooting did not survive.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on Sunday, May 30, at around 9:45pm, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Florida on the report of a drive-by shooting. An 18-year-old female was shot while sitting in a vehicle parked in the driveway. She was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The victim, Chloe Vivens, succumbed to her injuries on Monday, May 31.

Officers say several shell casings were found in the street and a house was also found with bullet holes in the front. The house was occupied by a family.
