Scholl Named Amarillo Building Official

The City of Amarillo named a new building official on Thursday.

According to the City, Johnny Scholl has been named the new building official for Amarillo after having served as the interim building official since December. Prior to taking the interim role, Scholl served as a deputy building official. Overall, Scholl has worked with the City of Amarillo for 12 years.

“Johnny Scholl has an abundance of expertise and experience to lead what is a very important department within the city,” city manager Jared Miller said. “Johnny is very familiar with the responsibilities and functions of this department and how this department helps the construction industry in Amarillo. Johnny will make a seamless transition to Building Official.”

City officials say the building official for City of Amarillo is responsible for the administration, management and operation of the Building Safety Department.
