The three Republican candidates running for Texas Attorney General in 2022 reported their first financial numbers of the election cycle this week, with one candidate out in front of the pack.
According to finance reports, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is the fundraising leader among the three Republican candidates running for Attorney General next year. Bush reported bringing in $2.3 million in June for his campaign, while incumbent Ken Paxton brought in $1.8 million. The final Republican in the race, former Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman, brought in $1.1 million.
While Bush is ahead in the fundraising, Paxton still holds the biggest cash-on-hand advantage of the three candidates with $6.8 million on-hand. Bush reported $2.7 million on-hand and Guzman reported $611,000 on-hand.
The primary election for this race will be held sometime next spring, likely postponed from next March due to redistricting.
