Canyon City officials are on the hunt for their next captain of the Canyon Police Department.

According to the City of Canyon, the City is currently seeking a new police captain, who would serve as second-in-command of CPD, underneath the chief of police. Officials say the next captain will oversee the overall development, supervision, and evaluation of the patrol services for CPD.

“We’re looking for a second in command that has leadership experience and a passion to serve the Canyon community,” Canyon Chief of Police Steve Brush said in a statement. “Our goal here at CPD is to protect and serve our community, and we know the right candidate will share that goal.”

Applications will be accepted from Monday, August 2 through Monday, August 30 through the City’s job portal, https://www.canyontx.com/146/Job-Postings.
