Amarillo’s new City Secretary has been selected.

According to the City of Amarillo, Stephanie Coggins, a longtime municipal employee with more than a decade of service, has been selected to serve as Amarillo’s new City Secretary, replacing the recently retired Frances Hibbs.

In a statement, Coggins said she hopes to provide a “link” for citizens to connect with their municipal government.

“I have a servant’s heart, and it excites me to provide the link between our citizens and their elected officials,” Coggins said. “I am honored to step into this role and support our mayor, city council and citizens of Amarillo.”

Coggins will officially take the role of City Secretary on August 23.
