Randall County Commission, Precinct 4 candidate Tam Boatler picked up a major endorsement this week from an influential conservative organization.

On Wednesday, the Boatler campaign confirmed to The Amarillo Pioneer that the candidate has won the endorsement of Texas Right to Life in his Republican primary bid to replace retiring Commissioner Buddy DeFord. Boatler is one of a number of candidates endorsed by the group this year as a pro-life candidate running to represent Texans.

Boatler, a retired Amarillo Police Department captain and former Republican precinct chairman in Randall County, is running in the Republican nomination for the seat against Michael D. Grady and Melissa Juett Kalka.

The Republican nomination for the seat will be decided on Tuesday, March 1.
