APD: Juvenile Detained After Setting Off Fireworks at School

Authorities say a juvenile suspect has been detained after setting off fireworks at an Amarillo school.

According to Amarillo Police, on Friday, January 14 at 1 p.m., APD school liaison officers at Caprock High School heard loud pops on campus. The school was placed on lock down while officers searched for the source of the popping.

It was determined by officers that the source of the sound was fireworks that had been set off by a student. The juvenile suspect was located and detained and the school was taken off of lock down.
