A new ad by gubernatorial candidate Don Huffines’ campaign that ran during an NFL broadcast on Sunday night is catching attention across Texas.

The ad, which was broadcast during the Dallas Cowboys’ homestand against the Arizona Cardinals, saw Huffines standing in front of a blue background, comparing the success of Florida over the past few years to that of Texas. The ad shows Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, while discussing Florida’s victories, and even mentions that Florida teams are winning Super Bowls.

Huffines then went on to highlight his campaign priorities, such as securing the border and restoring prayer in public schools. He then called for Texas to “get its swagger back.”

The ad immediately drew attention statewide from social media users who saw the commercial during the NFL broadcast, with the Huffines campaign highlighting the “buzz” the commercial got from viewers.

Huffines is running against Gov. Greg Abbott in this year’s primary election for governor, being one of seven challengers to Abbott in the Republican primary.

Voters will decide the primary election on March 1.
