Meet the Moderators of the Amarillo Pioneer's 2022 Candidate Forum

Provided

On Thursday, February 3, voters in Amarillo will get a chance to meet the candidates running for office locally and in-person as part of the Amarillo Pioneer’s 2022 primary election candidate forum. This event is set to be one of our biggest forums yet, and we are excited to welcome a team of exceptional moderators to lead an evening of policy and information to get local voters set to cast their ballots in March.

Here is a look at the three people who will serve as our moderators for the evening:

Amarillo City Councilman Cole Stanley

City Councilman Cole Stanley has served on the Amarillo City Council since 2021, and has become one of the most popular local elected officials in the area due to his questioning nature and pro-citizen voting record. Councilman Stanley previously participated as a candidate in the Amarillo Pioneer’s 2021 candidate forum, and will instead be trading in his spot at the podium this year to serve as a moderator for the evening’s festivities.

Attorney Len Walker

Attorney Len Walker is a longtime local trial lawyer with a record of legal practice in Texas and New Mexico. Walker served as the moderator for the Amarillo Pioneer’s 2020 congressional candidate forum and as a moderator for our 2021 Amarillo City Council forum and will be returning to the stage to help us moderate this year’s event.

Amarillo Pioneer Editor-in-Chief Thomas Warren

Thomas Warren III will be joining Stanley and Walker to lead this year’s event, having previously moderated forums for county-level and some state level candidates in 2020.

The Amarillo Pioneer’s candidate forum for the 2022 primary election, which will feature candidates running for offices ranging from Governor to Constable, will be held on Thursday, February 3, at the VFW Post 1475 (1401 Southwest 8th Avenue) in Amarillo. The event will begin at 7 pm.
