An influential pro-life organization is throwing its weight behind one of the contenders vying to replace State Sen. Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo) in the upcoming March Republican primary election.

This week, the Kevin Sparks for Senate campaign claimed the endorsement of Texas Right to Life, an influential pro-life organization that has been at the heart of many pro-life movements in Texas, including the recent passage of the Texas Heartbeat Act. The organization singled out Sparks, a Midland businessman, for their endorsement among the field of the four candidates vying to replace Seliger.

Sparks is facing Coahoma ISD Trustee Stormy Bradley, attorney Jesse Quackenbush, and former Canyon ISD Trustee Tim Reid in the upcoming March 3 primary election for the seat. The winner of the Republican primary will be unopposed in the November general election and will effectively win the seat in the primary.
