Amarillo ISD Trustees will consider calling a multi-million bond election during a meeting this week.
On Friday, the Amarillo ISD Board will consider adopting an order calling a $232 million bond election for school facilities. Consideration of the order will follow a review and discussion over the long range facilities master plan developed by AISD’s Community Facilities Advisory Committee.
The election is tentatively targeted for the May 2022 ballot, with the election date to be finalized with the adoption of the order.
If the election is called, it will be the second AISD bond election in five years, after AISD Trustees called and successfully passed a $100 million bond in November 2017. That item passed with 55 percent of voters backing the item.
The meeting will be held on Friday, February 18 at 7:30am in the board room of the Rod Schroder Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West).
