Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has endorsed Midland businessman Kevin Sparks for Texas Senate District 31 in the upcoming March primary election.
In an announcement on Friday, the Sparks campaign announced that Perry had thrown his weight behind the political newcomer in his bid to replace retiring Sen. Kel Seliger. This is the second recent election in the area in which Perry has made an endorsement, previously endorsing Ronny Jackson in his successful primary campaign for congress in 2020.
Sparks is facing Tim Reid, Jesse Quackenbush, and Stormy Bradley in the March 1 primary election for the seat. Early voting is ongoing through February 25.
